Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Bitty Coder (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use bittycoder.com.

Tool input stays in your browser

The JSON formatter, viewer, validator, editor, minifier, diff, parser, and repair tools process their input locally in your browser. Tool input is not sent to our application API or shared between tool pages. The JSON Editor only stores a document on your device when you enable its optional local draft setting.

Local file import uses the browser File API. Copying and downloading use browser clipboard and file APIs. Those actions do not upload the document to us. Closing or reloading a page clears unsaved tool input unless you enabled the JSON Editor’s local draft setting.

Contact is the only submission feature

The Contact page is the only Bitty Coder feature designed to send user-provided content to our API at https://api.bittycoder.com. When you submit the form, it sends your name, email address, optional website, selected subject, and message so we can respond to inquiries, bug reports, privacy requests, and copyright notices.

Do not include JSON documents, credentials, secrets, or other sensitive data in a contact message. Contact submissions may be retained as reasonably needed to answer the request, prevent abuse, maintain records, or comply with legal obligations.

Local preferences

The site may store your selected visual theme and JSON Editor settings in local storage so they can be restored on later visits. When Restore local draft is enabled, the JSON Editor stores its current text and file name in IndexedDB on your device. Disabling the setting or confirming Clear removes that draft.

Technical request information and analytics

Our website, API, CDN, and hosting providers may process standard request information such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, date and time, response status, and error details to deliver and secure the service.

Bitty Coder uses a self-hosted Umami instance served from umami.souldee.com to understand aggregate page visits, referrers, browsers, devices, operating systems, and countries or regions. Umami does not use cookies, track visitors across websites, or receive JSON input, local file contents, or tool output.

As of the effective date, Bitty Coder does not enable Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics, or advertising. If another analytics or advertising service is enabled later, this policy will be updated to describe the service and any consent or choice mechanisms that apply.

How information is used and shared

We use contact, technical, and aggregate analytics information to operate and secure Bitty Coder, understand site usage, respond to messages, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and comply with law. We do not sell contact messages.

Information may be processed by infrastructure providers needed to run the site and API, or disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the service, its users, or others.

Your requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection concerning personal information we hold. Use the Contact page and select Privacy request. We may ask for reasonable verification before acting.

Children

Bitty Coder is a general developer utility site and is not directed to children. If you believe a child submitted personal information through the contact form, contact us so we can review the request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the tools, integrations, or legal requirements change. The effective date identifies the current version.
